Instructions for Accident Injury Victims Illinois and Missouri

1. Talk to No One- Do not talk to anyone about your accident except an injury attorney of the Gavin Law Firm. Do not talk to the other driver's insurance company or their injury attorneys. It is especially important that you do not give a recorded statement to the other driver's insurance company. You are not obligated to do so and such a statement is taken for the primary purpose of attempting to cause you to say something that will hurt your claim.

2. See Your Doctor- Go to your doctor and/or specialists as often as necessary and notify Gavin Law Firm of their contact information. It is important that you tell your doctor all of the symptoms that you are experiencing as a result of the accident. If you do not do so, your symptoms will not become part of your medical records and, ultimately, an insurance company will deny that you experienced the symptoms.

3. Record All Progress- Keep a running log of your progress and/or setbacks to help you accurately recall your pain, suffering, and disabilities in court.

4. Record Lost Wages- Keep a running log of time and wages lost from work due to your injuries.

5. Keep Copies of Bills- Provide your medical bills and pharmaceutical receipts to Gavin Law Firm.

6. Track Extra Expenses- Keep a record of all out-of-pocket expenses you incur as a result of the injury accident. Such expenses may include travel expense, parking expense, co-pays, and medicine expenses. Whenever possible, get and save the receipt for all such expenses and provide the record and receipts to Gavin Law Firm.

7. List Witnesses- Compile and send the names, addresses and phone numbers of all witnesses to Gavin Law Firm.

8. Keep Any Photographs- If you have photographs of the automobiles, product, or other things involved in your accident be sure to preserve the photographs and the negatives of the photographs. Then provide the photographs and negatives to Gavin Law Firm.

9. Call with Questions and Concerns- Gavin Law Firm will work diligently to resolve your case in the most effective possible manner and will periodically update you on case progress. Keep all correspondence and contact us anytime with specific questions and concerns.

10. Notify Gavin Law Firm of Changes- Keep us advised of any change in your address or telephone number.
